Introducing Miss Fay Khoo…

As a cook/ex-restaurateur who’s copped my fair share of bad write-ups, I’m naturally predisposed to eyeing food reviewers with a healthy (some would argue unhealthy) dose of cynicism. Don’t tell anyone, but I secretly rate them on a scale from – “mildly annoying” to, well, – “food blogger” 😉

With that kind of mindset, it’s probably just as well that Fay Khoo, one of my regulars at Orange Grove Market, never divulged to me that she’s in fact a highly accomplished food critic, writer, publisher and TV personality in Malaysia and the region.  By the time I found out, I’d already decided I liked her, so I gave her a pass; next thing I knew, we were both in Malaysia at the same time so I joined her in her studio for an interview on her BFM 89.9 radio show, Feeding Time with Fay.

Fay Khoo

The one and only Miss Fay Khoo

Fay Khoo has been described by Theresa Goh, the Communications Manager at Traders Hotel, KL, as “The Eighth Wonder of the World”.  She’s highly-driven and always a little manic; Fay has an encyclopaedic grasp of the local food scene and is a very strong writer to boot. We’re looking to collaborate on a couple of projects, so watch this space 🙂

Ps. My last trip was hosted by Holiday Tours and Travel, Traders Hotel KL, Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Penang, Shangri-La Golden Sands Penang, Shangri-La Rasa Ria Sabah, and Four Points by Sheraton, Kuching. Thank you very much to all these partners and the team from Mediaprima for their support and hospitality.
