Food Fame – Ken Burgin of Profitable Hospitality

Ken Burgin of popular food podcast, Profitable Hospitality, was the founder of the iconic and wildly successful Cafe Troppo on Glebe Point Road in Sydney before he ventured into food consulting.

As it turns out, we have more in common than food entrepreneurship; we both studied at Sydney University and also, I’m pretty sure one of my old housemates from my uni days actually worked at Cafe Troppo at one time.

In this interview for my Food Fame community, Ken gives away some of his best secrets regarding what it takes to develop a thriving food business.

Tune in to hear what Ken has to say about –

  • why you should never be clearing tables as a cafe/restaurant owner
  • who you SHOULDN’T hire to be your bookkeeper
  • the clever strategy he used to publicise his business and make money at the same time
  • how to build your business so it will sell when you’re ready to walk away

And much, much more.
