How to Make Fried Fish Balls or Seafood/Meat Balls

Fried Fish Balls or Seafood/Meat Balls Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 500g fish fillets (eg. Basa)
  • 250g chicken mince
  • 1 onion, peeled and quartered
  • 2-3 Tbsp tapioca flour
  • 1 Tbsp Knorr chicken powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • Oil for deep-frying

METHOD:

  1. Combine fish fillets, chicken mince and onion in a food processor. Blend to a smooth paste.
  2. Add all other seasoning ingredients and mix well. (In my video I added some fried shallots but I wouldn’t suggest doing so if you’re deep-frying the fish balls as they may overcook.)
  3. Heat up oil to 180°C; drop spoonfuls of mixture into oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes, making sure to gently flip them with a wooden spoon to make sure they cook evenly.
  4. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve with noodles or as finger food with a sweet chilli dip.
