Press Release: Jackie M Charity Wine Dinner in the Pyrenees

I’ve been invited by Rainbow Gallery Café in Victoria’s Pyrenees wine region to do a Malaysian wine dinner on Saturday 5 September.

After the media storm of the last couple of weeks over baby Noah, I’ve asked that part of the proceeds go towards Down Syndrome NSW.

The 5 courses I’m preparing will be gluten-free, and if you book by 14 August, I’ll throw in a pass to my Laksa and Onde-Onde workshop the following morning at the café (value $45).

The press release follows below, and I hope you will help pass this along to all your friends and family to help support this very worthy charity that’s close to my heart.

Places are limited so make sure you contact Rainbow Gallery Café ASAP to make your booking.

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CELEBRITY CHEF TO BRING MALAYSIA TO REGIONAL VICTORIA

Local wine and international cuisine will join forces at upcoming dinner event

Renowned cook and media personality, Jackie M is looking forward to hosting a dinner party on September 5th at the Rainbow Gallery Café in Moonambel.

Tickets at $170 p.p will cover five courses of Jackie’s gourmet take on Malaysian street food coupled with carefully selected wines from Summerfield Winery and Taltarni Vineyards. The entire menu will be gluten free.

Jackie is pleased to announce that a portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to her local Down Syndrome organisation, a cause she is vocally passionate about.

The event is to be a celebration of the Pyrenees wine-growing region of Victoria.

Both Taltarni and Summerfield have been based in the fertile region for generations and are looking forward to the pairing of their exquisite selections with the acclaimed international cuisine.

“We are excited and prepared for a wonderful night at Rainbow Café with Jackie M – for what is going to be a wonderful expression of Malaysian food and Pyrenees Wine,” said Mark Summerfield, whose titular winery has recently released their collection of 2013 vintages.

The uncommon combination of Malaysian cuisine is set to “create an unforgettable dining experience for the guests”.

Jackie has said of the event “I’ve been told it’s impossible to pair Malaysian food with wine but if you know anything about me, it’s that I love a challenge.”

The Rainbow Gallery is located in Moonambel, in the heart of the Pyrenees region, a scenic drive of about two hours from Melbourne through Victoria’s wine country.

Tickets are available through the venue via phone or email 03 54672135 / rainbowgallerycafe@gmail.com.

Jackie M has been bringing Malaysian street food to Australia for the past fifteen years.  After being a regular feature at farmers’ markets around Sydney through most of the noughties, Jackie has turned her focus to celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, food festivals, presenting and publishing. She is the author of a cook book, digital magazine as well as two blogs, all of which can be accessed through her official website https://www.jackiem.com.au/
